Be sure to tell about the beginning, the middle, and the end. How do the characters feel in the story? How do you know? Look at a particular section in the book. Tell the most important ideas in these pages. How does the picture on page______ help you learn more about ___________________
Student One has a hard time with sequencing of events. I would practice putting events in order with him using images. When meeting with reading groups I would have him put pictures in order. I would use familiar pictures such as making a sandwich. I would then have him match the images with the proper supporting text. Once he became proficient in that, I would then have him do a similar activity with emotion cards since he has a hard time determining emotions.
