Student Three did very well on this assessment. The only part he struggled with was the rhyme production portion of the assessment. He was able to figure out a few rhymes but when it came to words he was not really familiar with, he struggled. Since it seemed like a lot of the problem was his lack of background knowledge of rhyming words I would first begin by doing a lesson on rhyming words. This would help me to understand if he was struggling with figuring out how to rhyme words or if the problem was just that he didn't know what it meant to rhyme. I would then use a mentor text to show examples of rhyming words so the student could have some examples. Last, I would have him complete a rhyming word activity. that consisted of him replacing the beginning letter of a word. He could do this using flash cards on his own or by working with a partner.
